Delete your Pipit account
How to delete your account in Pipit: Discover Indie Music, published by Unified Global, LLC, and what happens to your data.
In the app
Open your profile menu, choose Delete account, and confirm. If you last signed in more than a few minutes ago, you will be asked for your password again.
On the web
Sign in at www.indiepipit.com, open your profile menu, choose Delete account, and confirm.
By email
Cannot sign in, or no longer have the app? Email hello@indiepipit.com from the address on your Pipit account and ask us to delete it. We will confirm once it is done.
What is deleted
Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be undone. It removes:
- your account, sign-in and profile, including your photo and bio;
- your library, playlists, Discover Waves, follows and notifications;
- your Backstage profile and your conversations;
- for artists: your artist profile, your music, releases and posts, and the files behind them.
Memberships and earnings
Any Pipit membership is cancelled immediately, with no further charges and no refund for the rest of the current period.
Artists: earnings that have not been paid out yet are lost when the account is deleted, so contact us first to collect them.
What is kept
Some information outlasts the account, without being linked to you:
- Comments you left stay in their conversations, shown as from a deleted account.
- Likes and listening history stay as anonymous totals, so other artists’ play counts do not change.
- Messages and reports you sent to the Pipit team are kept so we can finish handling them.
- A record that the account was deleted, and any payment and payout history, is kept for our financial and legal records. Our payment processor, Stripe, keeps its own billing records.
- Deleted data can remain in our encrypted database backups for up to 7 days before they are replaced.
